I like this image for two reasons; the first is the way the pipes seem to sag and press upon the walls making them speak of structure and load bearing. The second is the pipes, which reminded me of urban decay and city infrastructure. Something as simple a pipe could be enough to suggest Matta-Clark’s theme of ‘taking art to the sewers’.
