American artist Gordon Matta-Clark does interesting things with building envelopes. Matta-Clark's apparoaches range from cutting an entire building in half to only cutting sections of walls out of buildings and then displaying them inside a room. Once again, I like the idea of questioning walls beyond their structural value and possible use of external walls to form internal partitions.
These are also some interesting images that can be created by displaying walls. I also like the name of the exhibition, ‘Powerless Structures’.
